About the Presenter:

Chet Davis, P.E., is the President of ESA, Inc in Clackamas, OR and the chief designer of the EasyPower® software suite for the design, analysis, and safety of power systems. Mr. Davis received his BSEE from Oregon State University and has been actively involved in analyzing and trouble shooting industrial power systems for the past 28 years.

Mr. Davis is a member of the IEEE Industrial Applications Society and the Power Engineering Society. He is a member of the IEEE IAS Short Circuit Committee (P551), which is preparing the forthcoming Recommended Methods for Calculation AC Short-Circuit Currents in Industrial and Commercial Power Systems (IEEE Violet Book). This book will be one of the IEEE Standard "Color Books" of Recommended Practices. Mr. Davis is also a member of the IEEE Power System Analysis Committee (Brown Book) and the IEEE Power System Protection Committee (Buff Book), and the IEEE-1584 working Group on Arc Flash analysis. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Oregon and California.

Michelle Murphy received a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Michelle has had the opportunity to work on many aspects of power engineering design during her career. She currently owns her own business performing power system studies. Previously she performed system studies and schematic design for Bechtel National, Inc. She has experience in industrial plant design, power plant construction, and utility planning and design. Her most recent achievements include a Performance Award from Bechtel Nevada for saving the company $1.8 million dollars by creating and preparing an arc flash bounding study at the Nevada Test Site, attaining membership on the IEEE 1584 Committee and appointment as Congressional District Leader for the Campaign for Liberty.
